Note on Charges
Securities Transaction Tax (STT) / Commodities Transaction Tax (CTT)
Securities Transaction Tax (STT) is a tax imposed by the government on transactions conducted in the securities market through any stock exchange. STT is applied to both the "Buy" and "Sell" sides when a trade results in delivery, and only to the "Sell" side when a trade does not result in delivery (as in intraday or F&O transactions). Currency trading is exempt from STT. Similarly, CTT is levied by the government on transactions in the commodities market, but only on the "Sell" side.
