Glossary Background

Gold ETF

A Gold ETF (Exchange-Traded Fund) is an investment fund that invests in gold bullion. Each unit of a Gold ETF is backed by a specific amount of gold (typically one gram per unit) of assured purity, which is held in physical or demat (digital) form. Gold ETFs offer a way to invest in gold without the need for physical storage. Gold ETFs combine the value of gold with the liquidity of stocks, allowing investors to buy and sell units on stock exchanges like the NSE and BSE. They track the price of gold bullion, providing a convenient way to gain exposure to gold while enjoying the flexibility and ease of stock market transactions.
